Child Development Center

Welcome to Borinquen Child Development Center where our philosophy is to support an educationally appropriate atmosphere with a variety of experiences that will promote well-rounded development by nurturing each infant and child.  We take pride in collaborating with families to provide a caring setting that addresses the unique needs for growth in physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional abilities.

Our Center is built on the premise that we shall:

  • Provide a broad variety of new experiences for learning and exploring

  • Ensure that each child’s environment enhances all developmental domains and abilities

  • Promote independence and self-reliance

  • Present a nurturing atmosphere of acceptance and the expression of feelings and emotions

  • Support diversity awareness through positive social group experiences

Borinquen Child Development Center is licensed and certified to operate through the US Coast Guard Health, Safety and Work-Life Service (HSWL SC) and is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  Our Center strives to support this philosophy by adhering to program guidelines of the Coast Guard Commandant and by integrating standard compliance from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  Our educational staff and classrooms are monitored and inspected based on these standards.  The educational settings and rooms are divided as follows:
