NEW ROAD CLOSURES AFFECTING BASE HOUSING RESIDENTS AND ACCESS TO COMMUNITY CENTER 

    • Starting 18Nov, a portion of Cliff Rd past the CDC will close until 20 Dec. 

    • Pedestrian/Bicycle access will be available to the community center behind MWR guest cottages to  along Cliff Rd. to W St. during this closure.

    • Residents/Patrons traveling via motor vehicle will need to exit the Base via the main gate and re-enter through the Club Gate to access the Community Center. The Club Gate will remain open 24/7 to accommodate both the crews and visitors staying at the MWR Cottages.

    • Hook Rd closure by 60 Hook Rd has increased the length of commute for residents having to drive around closures to exit base. This especially affects residents on the Hook of Hook Rd (84 Hook area), so we have opened the service Rd connecting Wing and Hook Rd.

    • *The section that was closed has been REOPENED!*

  1. Hangar/Base Traffic:

    • The section of Hangar Rd between the Hangar and Admin will be blocked, with traffic rerouted in front of the hangar. Large deliveries to the shipping and receiving building must be coordinated with the delivery vehicle.

  2. Existing Road Closures:

  • Ongoing for 2 months: Manhole replacements will cause small road closures around F Circle, Hook Rd at 6th and Hook, and Hook and Cliff.

  • Hook Rd Closure: closure by 60 Hook Rd will divert traffic to northern section of 6th St, opening up by end of November. See attached traffic map. 

  • Service Rd: To facilitate an easier commute for residents on the Hook of Hook Rd, the service road between 86 and 85 Wing Rd is authorized access at slow speeds. 

  • F Circle: Entrance is closed for 2 months. Residents must access their homes via NE Rd. The NW corner of F Circle will be closed effecting houses 167, 175. Parking for these houses will shift south or the parking lot in front of the garages across from 169. Please see attached plan for upcoming F circle closures. 

  • Parking: Residents on the East side of 5th St should park behind their houses on the service road. West side residents should park on the Hook of Hook.

  • CDC Area: The northeast section is open to all traffic; the east side is one-way for CDC traffic only.

  • Back Gate: Closed

  3. ​PCS Moves:

  • Contact housing to schedule moving truck days to avoid traffic conflicts.

4. ​Housing Updates:

  • Recycling and dumpster location has moved to the parking lot between 121 and 123 Cliff Rd. Parking in this area is off-limits.

  • Trenching work is ongoing throughout the base with no power interruptions. 

  • The bus stop at Wing and 5th will be unusable; students must wait for the bus at the southwest corner of the intersection.

5. Safety Reminder:

    • All construction machinery will reduce speeds to under 10 mph on roadways.
